in no particular order
I loved the 3 Lord Dynamic in FE7 and FE 8, while FE10 had Lord-ish classes it still counts to me.
• Different Lord Classes
With multiple Lords you can have more than just a “Great Lord every game using a Sword and a Lance” We can have very different lords and maybe even a Mage Lord one day
I was a bit disappointed when I found out Pirates were gone in Awakening, and even more so when the whole light magic using classes were gone, along with light magic. Summoner’s gave Dark Mages more variety and Rouges were a more natural advancement for a Theif than an assassin, although Trickster is cool, but not very useful.
• Return of light magic and the Magic Triangles
Light magic balanced Dark and Anima magic perfectly. As Anima was more or less the Sword of magic, Dark was the Axe, light was the Spear(well Bow stat wise but that would screw up my comparison).
and even the Anime had a trinity
We still have the 3 different types fo anime magic but little reason to use anything but Thunder magic since it has the most attack and a crit rate. The triangle here again, balanced it.

• More Map Goal Variation
IN Awakening there are only 2 diffrent goals per map, Route Enemy and Defeat Commander. That’s very monotonus. I loved Defend for X turns because you had to play defensibly because they usually threw harder and more enemies at you, or you could be a madman and brute force it.
• More ‘Special’ Weapon abilities
Devil Sword(but there are other weapon type variations) -may damage the user too but insane attack
Knives- a Triangle neutral weapon used by thieves
Wo Dao- a Sword exclusive super crit weapon
LongSword/Zonbato(but there are other weapon type variations)- Kills horses, like the Beast Killer of awakening
Silence Sword(but there are other weapon type/states effect variations)- A Sword that Silences you
SwordReaver((but there are other weapon type variations)- reverses the Weapon Triangle
Blizzard/Meteor/Bolting- Other Super long range spells
Unlock Staff-it unlocks stuff
Silence/Poison/Sleep/Stone/Beserk- Staffs that cause status effects
Warp Staff - Like the rescue staff but instead of bringing a unit from 1/2 their magica way to the user they can move someone anywhere in the range.
• Returning Skills
Skill systems are in more recent FE games but a few skills got just left behind in Awakening.
Slayer(Bishop skill)- have triple weapon Might against monster enemies
Steal(Thief Skill)- WTF is this gone?
Nihil- Negate Skills in battle
Celerity- Boots, the skill
Corrosion- Reduce enemy’s weapon uses by your level
Flare- a Mages Sol/Luna
Fortune- negate enemy crit chance
Provoke- just like it sounds they attack this unit over almost anyone else
Shade- the anti-Provoke
Shove- push your friends a tile away :D
Smite- push a friend TWO spaces away
Stun(FalcoKnight skill)- a Crit that stuns the enemy for 3 turns
Cancel- Stop a counter Sttack
Corona(Light Sage Skill- Magical Luna+ lowers accuracy for a turn
Crit+5/10/15/20/25- the name really says it all
Deadeye(Sniper Skill)- 2x Accuracy and put enemy unit to sleep
Disarm- you can guess what it does
Flourish- Attack at 1/2 damage, good for weakening a enemy to train a weaker unit
Poison was a pain in the ass on pervious games, but it made you kill pirates with Poison Axe’s from long range or with a sword right away. Silence is as about as annoying as it sounds but it changes the game up, same with sleep. In FE10 Third Tear Classes could cause some of these with some specials, although they were a bit odd, how does deadeye put you to sleep O.o
•Fog of war Maps
They were fun and hard because well.. you cant see crap. Also would give thieves more use
•Third Teir Classes
I understand it might just be FE10 exclusive because it’s a long game and it’s direct sequel from FE9 but dame Third Teir classes were awesome. With the Class swap system of awakening it’s be hard to implement but they could make it so that you can only third teir a character in their natural Class or something because Second(maybe call it a Third Seal here :P) Sealing a Trueblade to a Sentinel just sounds broken.
•Class locked Stills
Some classes has special bonuses that were unique to them like Sniper,Swordmaster, and Berserkers getting +15% Crit.
These are all just my personal wishes for the next game and are unique to me but I hope you read it all and liked my opinions
